This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at the Bimini Shark Lab, an experience that has profoundly impacted my life and future aspirations. The Bimini Shark Lab is dedicated to the research and conservation of sharks and other marine life, and being a part of this mission has been both enlightening and inspiring.
During my time at the lab, I was involved in various research projects, including tagging and tracking sharks, collecting data on their behavior, and studying their habitats. I worked alongside passionate scientists and conservationists who are committed to protecting these magnificent creatures and the ecosystems they inhabit. Every day was a new adventure, filled with hands-on learning and meaningful contributions to marine science.
One of the most memorable experiences was assisting in a shark tagging expedition. Holding a live shark, feeling its powerful movements, and knowing that our work would help protect its species was an indescribable feeling. This experience has only strengthened my resolve to pursue a career in marine biology and contribute to the conservation of our oceans.
